There are dreams that leave you with a sad, gloomy feeling. Dreams like spending an afternoon in your childhood home’s living room alone, or driving around with a pickup truck in a ruined brown city, or a rainy evening looking around in the downtown for film during a holiday weekend.

Big billboards on the blue sky and smoke all around, no umbrellas, stepping on puddles. Vehicle traction, Cramped suburban communities, Big dogs for neighbors, barbeque nights. Waiting for something to come when you know it’s coming and it’s gonna be near but you’re scared to swallow that last bit of saliva because you’re too wussy to accept the fact that it’s there.

Dreams, they haunt you like ghosts but worse
